ERMELO PLANNED WATER INTERRUPTION NOTICE

May 27,2026 [16:22]

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) Usutu River Government Water Scheme has completed testing of the electrical system at Jericho and will be conducting repair works on 28 May 2026. As part of these works, the raw water supply to the Municipality will be temporarily shut down until the electrical system has been commissioned and returned to operation.

The planned outage is scheduled from 08:00 to 20:00 on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
It should be noted that the Southern Water Treatment Works receives its raw water supply from Jericho Dam and will therefore be affected by this planned outage.
Areas likely to be affected

✅Nederland Park
✅De Bruin Park
✅John Vorster Park
✅George Botha Park
✅Cassim Park
✅New Ermelo
✅Autumn Ridge / Nomndeni
✅Ermelo Extensions 5, 32, 33, 34 and 39

Once DWS resumes the raw water supply to the Municipality, the water treatment and distribution systems will require additional time to recover and stabilise following the restoration of supply.

Residents are urged to store sufficient water for essential household use and to use water sparingly during this period to assist in maintaining available reserves.
The Municipality will provide further updates as information becomes available from DWS.
